Law Graduate Assessment Test (LAW-GAT) Overview

The Law Graduate Assessment Test (GAT) is a prerequisite for applying to the Bar Council.

In accordance with the Pakistan Legal Practitioners & Bar Councils Rules, 1976, law graduates who wish to enrol as Advocates and practice law must pass the Law GAT. 

There are 100 questions on the LAW-GAT. The test only contains multiple-choice questions.

Who Can Apply for the LAW-GAT?

To be eligible for the LAW-GAT, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed the LL.B. (final year) examination from a university recognized by the Pakistan Bar Council.
  • Possess a minimum of 17 years of education.

Passing the GAT requires a minimum mark of 50.
