Indus College of Law

At Indus College of Law (ICL), we believe in fostering a vibrant community that extends beyond the classroom. Our diverse student societies provide platforms for you to explore your passions, develop valuable skills, and connect with like-minded peers.

1. Indus College of Law⏐Model United Nations (ICLMUN)

ICLMUN is an annual 3 day MUN conference in which students assume the role of national ambassadors or representatives to debate and seek to solve global issues by role playing meetings like the Security Council and General assembly.

Reasons to do MUN:

  • Knowledge: Students get a unique insight into how the United Nations work, understanding international affairs and global issues and the research process helps MUN delegates develop critical thinking skills.
  • Negotiations: MUN delegates learn to negotiate in small and large groups during unmoderated caucus or lobbying sessions because the whole point of MUN is to negotiate solutions to global issues until they could be passed or adopted by the committee.
  • Leadership skills: Through this well-planned activity, students are being groomed to become leaders with a voice and strong opinions.

2. Indus College of Law Mooting Society (ICLMS)

The Indus College of Law Mooting Society is a dynamic platform for students to engage in legal debates and enhance their advocacy skills. Through a series of moot court competitions, students simulate real court proceedings, allowing them to develop practical legal skills in a supportive environment.

Reasons to do Mooting:

  • Knowledge: Participating in moots provides students with valuable insights into legal principles and courtroom procedures. This experience deepens their understanding of various areas of law and enhances their ability to analyze legal issues critically.
  • Advocacy Skills: Mooting helps students develop essential advocacy skills, including effective oral argumentation, legal research, and writing. Participants learn to present their cases convincingly, honing their ability to think on their feet.
  • Leadership and Confidence: By taking on roles as advocates or judges in moot competitions, students gain confidence and leadership experience. They learn to articulate their opinions and advocate for their positions, preparing them for future leadership roles in the legal field.
